Special online series presented by the Buddhist Society of Western Australia (BSWA).
Initiative focuses on strengthening governance, ethics, and accountability within Buddhist organisations. Drawing on BSWA’s extensive experience, the series is designed to support both individuals and organisations across Australia in fostering safe, ethical, and well-governed Buddhist communities.
Key Event Talks
The series will explore key topics, including:
- Inspect the Vinaya of all Traditions and clearly understand the vows of a Monastic.
- Understand the importance of a Code of Conduct in every Buddhist location.
- Provide guidelines on Dispute resolution and the multiple paths, including external resources, presently available.
- Highlight Support services and Resources that are available for victims of abuse.
Event Details
This series will be delivered across three Saturday sessions in May.
The sessions will take place at Dhammaloka City Centre, with live-stream access available for online participants.
The series will be led by Venerable Mettaji.
Program Content & Participation
The series will feature a combination of presentations and panel discussions, along with opportunities for open discussion and Q&A in each session. Key topics include understanding the Vinaya of all traditions, the importance of a Code of Conduct, approaches to dispute resolution, and the support services and resources available for those affected by misconduct.
Recordings of the sessions will be made available via the BSWA YouTube channel. We warmly invite all those interested in strengthening ethical practice and accountability in Buddhist communities to participate.
