Introduction

This introductory workshop is for anyone seeking a basic understanding of the human experience of grief and loss, tailored for a Buddhist context. The session will include content from Buddhist texts with broad relevance, based on input from the Australian Sangha Association. It offers grief awareness education for people who may be grieving a death, supporting someone who is grieving, those working in the field of grief and loss, and the general public. The workshop is open to everyone: lay and monastic, Buddhist and non-Buddhist.

Program

The workshop starts at 2pm and goes for 1.5 hours, followed by light refreshments. The content has been drawn from evidence-based understandings of the grieving process. A Buddhist monastic will be present to speak at the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the content, reflect on their own experiences, and share insights with others.
