Chaplaincy Training

Buddhist Council of NSW chaplaincy training is accredited through the NSW College of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

Our annual five-day Introductory CPE course explores spiritual care for people in challenging and stressful situations, such as in hospitals, prisons, aged care facilities, as well as in Buddhist temples and the broader community.
After the introductory course, participants interested in pursuing a chaplaincy practice can undertake a Foundational CPE Unit, which takes 4-6 months part-time. Student practitioners gain a deeper knowledge on chaplaincy principles and get hands-on experience providing spiritual support to people in difficulties.
