Bhante Sanathavihari will share his experiences in Buddhist counselling within a monastic setting for both monastics and laity. Bhante will discuss the importance of inner counselling, modelling, deep listening, “kindfulness”, and emphasising the shift from a model of “helping” and “fixing” to “being with” and “caring for”. This includes moving away from a clinician-client relationship to that of coach and coaching apprentice, where the goal is for the apprentice to become their own coach.
