What Is a Pilgrimage in Buddhism?
A pilgrimage is a spiritual journey to sacred Buddhist sites, undertaken as an act of devotion, reflection, and spiritual growth. Often visiting places associated with Gautama Buddha’s life.
Why Pilgrimage Matters in Buddhism
Pilgrimage helps generate merit, deepens reflection and mindfulness, and strengthens one’s connection to the Buddha and his teachings.
Why a New Year’s Pilgrimage Is Special
A New Year’s pilgrimage symbolises renewal and new beginnings. It’s a time to reflect on the past year, set positive intentions, and start anew. Many traditions believe that generating merit at the start of the year brings blessings, good health, and peace.
