Event Details
John Seed and Betsy Faen will be leading a bushwalk in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
When: 9.45am to 2/3pm on 28 July, 2024. Where: Meet at the beginning of the Bairne Track at West Head at 9:45 am for a 10am start. There is an entrance fee to the park.
The Bairne Track is an easy 4 kms each way, with two small hills. We will stop at the end on lovely rocks overlooking The Basin. The walk will take about an hour each way, plus an hour’s stop. We should finish by 2 or 3 pm.
Bring: Lunch, walking shoes (it may be muddy), hat, water. There will be an optional opportunity to give dana to John’s Rainforest Information Centre, either on the day, or online.
Children who are happy to walk in silence are welcome.
About the Teachers
Betsy, an experienced Insight Meditation Teacher, will introduce the walk with a short talk on opening the senses to help us become more attuned to nature.
John will lead several experiential exercises aimed at dispelling the illusion of the separation between ourselves and the natural world.
John was co-creator, along with Joanna Macy, of experiential workshops in deep ecology in the 80s, and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 1995 for his tireless service to conservation and the environment. www.rainforestinformationcentre.org/john_seed
