Losar is the Tibetan New Year and as such is a time of great celebration. The animal that represents 2025 is the Wood Snake. In 2025 Losar starts on February 28th. Celebrations for the 14 days of Miracles continue thereafter until 14th March. These days are considered special in that the effects of any actions we perform (positive or negative) are multiplied 100 million times. Merit making actions include offering lights and flowers, hanging new prayer flags, doing kora (eg. around the Stupa), reciting prayers and doing pujas.
To celebrate Losar at Kunsang Yeshe we are offering a prayer service. This will be followed by a light vegetarian meal.
Date: Saturday 1st March
Time: 5.30pm for prayers followed by meal.
Location: Kunsang Yeshe, 116 Bathurst Road, Katoomba.
Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring a plate of food to share or offerings eg. flowers.
