Event Details
Saka Dawa marks the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha, and it is one of the most powerful days of the Tibetan Buddhist calendar. According to tradition, any virtuous actions performed on this day are multiplied one hundred millions of times. The date for Saka Dawa Duchen is 31st May 2026.
Kunsang Yeshe invite you to participate in the recitation or writing of the Sanghata Sutra, creating merit for the Centre as part of the celebrations for Saka Dawa but also with the intention of dedicating our efforts to the long life of HH the 14th Dalai Lama.
Please join us at the Centre on Saka Dawa when we will enjoy afternoon tea and start writing out the Sanghata Sutra using a provided template that you can trace in gold ink (no need to worry if you have messy handwriting!).
For more information click here. You will be taken to our Sanghata Sutra web page where you can complete your expression of interest in attending (for catering and logistical purposes).
