Emotions are our responses to the happenings in our life. Often, they come across as irrational and can be overwhelming at times. Through the skilful use of mindfulness, especially by applying the R.A.I.N. (Recognise, Acknowledge, Inquire and Nurture) protocol, we can learn how inquire into our emotional habits, diminish the negative influence of the unwholesome ones, and strengthen the positive impact of the wholesome ones.
