Event Details

The Buddha taught that reflection and recollection play an important role in the development of our meditation practice. During this long weekend retreat, we will explore the Buddha’s themes for contemplation – the anussatis.

The six main annusatis are recollecting the Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha, Ethical Conduct, Generosity, and Heavenly Beings. Further recollections include the body, death, and peace.

By studying teachings from selected suttas, we will learn how these skilful subjects inspire confidence in the spiritual path and help uplift the mind. We will discover how the practice of contemplation leads to joyful states of happiness, whilst deepening the stillness of meditation, and developing wisdom in our hearts.
