Join in chanting, Dhamma talk and Candle Procession on this significant day in the life of the Buddha.
Māgha Pūjā commemorates an event occurring at Veluvana Monastery, ten months after the enlightenment of the Buddha. The meeting was special in that it had four characteristics:
(1) 1,250 disciples came to see the Buddha that evening without any prior notice; (2) All of them were enlightened disciples; (3) All had been ordained by the Buddha himself; (4) It was the full moon day of the third lunar month.
