On 26th of May the 7th of Fourth month of Lunar Calendar the Buddha Shakyamuni was born.
Sakya Tharpa Ling will be celebrating this special day with reciting the 16th Arhats

On 26th of May the 7th of Fourth month of Lunar Calendar the Buddha Shakyamuni was born.
Sakya Tharpa Ling will be celebrating this special day with reciting the 16th Arhats prayer, special cake offering, flowers and light offerings.
You are all invited to attend this special day which will be held at the Centre and starts from 10:30am to 2pm.
Buddha’s Birthday
According to the sutra on the 15th of Fourth month Tibetan Lunar calendar Queen Maya Devi was pregnant with Siddhartha then after ten months about 32 miracles sign arise everywhere like flower blossoming etc. Thereafter Queen Maya Devi proceeded towards Lumbini Garden followed by many gods and goddesses. During that time Queen Maya Devi rested and leaned against the
tree Paksha and Siddhartha was born from a stainless womb from the right side of the Queen. As soon as he was born he took the steps in four directions, top and bottom and 7 lotus flowers appeared at every step he took and he said “In this world I am supreme!” At that moment many gods including the four Major Kings, five hundred attendants appeared to serve him and with this miracle, five hundred treasure grounds were opened.
