Buddhist Council SRE teachers join together to set our intention for the new school year and share strategies for creating the best classroom environment for our students.
Buddhist Council board member Bhante Akāliko will welcome us with a short talk and blessing. Akāliko Bhikkhu (he/him) is an Australian monk in the Theravada forest tradition. He is the founder of Rainbodhi LGBTQIA+ Buddhist Community and a Buddhist chaplain at Western Sydney University.
We will also review the current instructions from the Department of Education aimed at COVID safety.
We welcome current teachers, new teachers and those who may be interested in joining our volunteer program to share the Dharma in schools.
