On January 16th every year, about a thousand monks along with tens of thousands of laypeople will gather together and commemorate the passing of their great teacher, Venerable Ajahn Chah (1918-1992), by many days of Dhamma practice and a candle procession around the Chedi enshrining Ajahn Chah’s relics.
In Sydney, Australia, Bodhisaddha Forest Monastery invites the faithful to offer the highest form of respect to their teacher, Venerable Ajahn Chah, in the form of dedicating body and mind to practice meditation, chanting, listening to Dhamma and candle procession.

8:15 PM Verses of Recollection & Candle Procession

– Please register by sending an email to bodhisaddha@gmail.com giving your name, phone number, and the number of people coming in the same household (will be seated together).
– During the event, chanting will be done outside around the Muchalinda Dam.
– Face masks must be worn during chanting
– the ceremony will also be shown on the daily Zoom online chanting room
