The Buddhist Library has been a home for Buddhist learning and community since the 1990s. From our Camperdown space, thousands have climbed that steep stairway to discover teachings, meet world‑renowned teachers, attend conferences and film festivals, and encounter Buddhism for the very first time.
As we prepare to move to our new home in Glebe – with easier street access, a welcoming garden, and a softer, less industrial feel – some items simply can’t come with us. Our core collection will remain strong and diverse, but many well‑loved books and objects are ready to begin new lives with new caretakers.
To help them find those homes, we’re holding a relocation garage sale, offering much‑loved parts of our collection at substantially low prices. You’ll find rare out‑of‑print books, magazines, Buddhist art, and sculpture, along with a wide range of titles, including:
- Meditation, mindfulness, and wellness guides
- Esoteric and spiritual works
- Travel books on South‑East Asia and Tibet
- Discourses, sutras, and scriptures from all major traditions
- Large full‑colour coffee‑table books on Buddhist art and history
- Contemporary self‑help and reflective writing
We’ll also be offering furniture – bookshelves, tables, garden chairs – and kitchenware. We would much rather see these items loved and used than sent to landfill.
All proceeds will support the purchase of streamlined shelving and furnishings for our new home on St John’s Road, Glebe.
This is a rare chance to take a piece of the Library with you – a keepsake from a place that has supported decades of learning, practice, and community.
