(FORMAL MĀGHA PŪJĀ CEREMONY @ 6:00PM-8:00PM)
Māgha Pūjā commemorates the great gathering of 1,500 Savakas, fully enlightened Noble Disciples of the Buddha. The Buddha gave the Ovāda Pātimokkha, a teaching that would annnounce the heart of the Buddha’s teachings to be spread to the many and down for generations.
On this sacred day, come to the monastery to practice sitting and walking meditation, and chanting the virtues of the Buddha 108 times to build mindfulness and wisdom.
The formal Māgha Pūjā Ceremony begins at 6:00pm and consists of Evening Chanting and chanting of various Suttas, listening to Dhamma talk, and Candle Procession.
Flowers and Candles will be provided by the monastery.
