Join us at Vajrayana Institute for a special opportunity to take refuge with Geshe Samten. Taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha is the gateway into the Buddhist path and establishes the foundation for all subsequent practice. This traditional ceremony provides the opportunity to formally enter the path of Buddhadharma under the guidance of a qualified teacher.
Buddhists use the phrase “go for refuge” or “take refuge” because refuge is an active process. It is a fundamental step where we commit ourselves to the Buddhist path. Refuge in Buddhism is about changing our state of mind. This means deepening our understanding of what gives life purpose, and what will bring us happiness now and in the future.
Geshe Samten will give a brief instruction on what it means to take refuge and vows of individual liberation and offer refuge to those who wish to formalise their commitment to following the Buddhist path.
Only those intending to take refuge with Geshe Samten should attend.
