Vesak Day is the most important day in the Buddhist Calendar, which commemorates three significant events in the Life of the Buddha: His Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinibbana.
It is traditional on this day to recollect the Buddha through chanting, listening to Dhamma, and a formal candle offering ceremony.
This Ceremony will be led by Ajahn Varadhammo.
Programme:
9:30am Monks leave for alms round to Thaitown/Chinatown
10:15am Giving of 3 Refuges and 5 Precepts, followed by Dhamma Talk by Ajahn Varadhammo
10:45am Vesak Ceremony and Candle Offering & Procession inside the Centre
11:00am Monks give blessing, group chanting, and followed by shared lunch
