The Buddha would often instruct a disciple to go into the forest, sit at the base of a tree, and begin “gladdening the heart” by reflecting on the series of fortunate circumstances that had given them the motivation and ability to seek freedom through understanding the Dhamma. Generosity or Dana is the first of the Paramis it is an opening of the heart giving rise to joy and liberation.

Gratitude and Generosity are the doorways to spacious freedom in our walking the path of Dhamma. This Easter Weekend Retreat will try to open the heart and mind through the cultivation and exploration of Gratitude and Generosity.

All are welcome. Retreatants will be provided with helpful texts and refections.

The Guest House. Jalaluddin Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond….

The retreat will start on Thursday night (2nd), with guests free to arrive anytime from 4pm, and conclude at 3pm on Monday (6th)

Bhante Tejadhammo will be your guide along the path.
