Event Date and Time: Sunday 22 July; 8:30am to 5:00pm (if taking the 8 Mahayana Precepts, please arrive at 7:30am)
Chokor Duchen represents one of the four most important celebrations in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar. It commemorates the anniversary of the Buddha giving his first teaching at Sarnath after reaching enlightenment. The teaching which was on the "Four Noble Truths" constitutes the first Turning of the Wheel of the Doctrine. It is said that the merit of positive action is multiplied 10 million times on Chokor Duchen.
To celebrate Chokor Duchen, Barom Kagyu Chodrak Drupju Choling will hold a Dharma day conducted by Venerable Lama Namsai, during which we will leave aside our wordly worries and joyfully fill our body, speech and mind with Dharma. Come and join us for a day of meditation, prayers and teachings - for the whole day or any part of it. All welcome. There are no charges. Donations to Venerable Lama Namsai are welcome.
